She has not put out the trains for many years but this last Christmas she said that she and my father tested them before giving them to me and they worked fine. All the trains and items I am listing have been used and lovingly stored for many years.
I do not know a lot about Marklin except that they are made in germany, are high quality and the only brand my mother would buy.
My mother started collecting Marklin trains when I was a young girl. I was never allowed to touch them. I do not do this because I do not have the knowledge and am afraid I would damage the cars.
I spent many hours looking at them as a child and loved it, but I do not have the love of trains like my mom and my children are not interested in carrying on the tradition. The oils tend to solidify and the contacts tend to oxidize.
That is how much she loved her trains.
If one of the trains came off the track I had to get her to replace it.
